Lockdown at L'Ours Blanc Furs

SALT LAKE CITY, UT -  Three animal rights activists have been arrested at L'Ours Blanc Furs in Salt Lake City after blockading the entrance with steel-pipe lockboxes. Another protester who was taking photographs was cited by police for "walking on the road" during the action. This is the second such action that has taken place at Salt Lake City's last remaining fur store. Last Fur Free Friday, there were six arrests in a similar action. Local activists have been working to shut down L'Ours Blanc since successfully ending fur sales at a local department store. The battle has been long and bitter, with dozens of arrests in the campaign's history.

Sarah Arnold and Autumn Wagner were released after five hous in custody, but as of Thursday morning, Craig Manville was still being held in custody on charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.

Because of asking questions of the booking officer, such as the relevancy of certain questions he was being asked, Craig was thrown into general population and denied pre-trial services.  After spending two days in isolation, Craig was finally released Friday, August 11th when his parents decided to put up bail.
