Coordinated actions nationwide led to the arrest of 99
activists as they blockaded entrances, disrupted operations and barricaded
the parking lots of retailers that sell animal skins. Most locations targeted
Federated stores like Macy's or Lazarus, while those areas without Federated
stores targeted local furriers.
The New York City action had, by far, the most arrests
-- it accounting for over one-third of the total arrests nationwide. However,
this is appropriate as New York is the largest fur market in the United
States.
