A.L.F. Active in Norway
The Norwegian Animal Liberation Front: Dyrenes FrigjØrings
Front (DFF) was formed late - 95. Their first action in November was against
a fur farm in Telemark where 110 foxes had their fur colored by red cruelty
free Henna, breeding books were stolen and a motorized vehicle had its
wires cut and slogans painted.
- In December, DFF glued 6 locks belonging to fur-shops
in Oslo and put anti-fur stickers on their windows. In January another
7 fur-shops had their locks destroyed by glue and stickers were again pasted
on their windows.
- On the night of 6th March, the DFF's largest economic
sabotage action to date was performed! The Norwegian Fur Breeders Association's
office (which is also used for fur auctions) in Oslo, got 28 windows smashed,
two locks glued, lots of red paint smeared on the walls, slogans painted
and a stink bomb thrown through one of the smashed windows.
- 22nd March - a fur shop in Tønsberg had its windows
smashed, red paint thrown in through the broken windows, locks glued and
slogans painted.
- 2nd May - two fur shops in Drammen had windows broken,
red paint sprayed through the broken windows, locks glued and slogans painted.
- 6th June - four fur shops in Oslo had "smørsyre"
(an extremely smelly fluid that attaches to fur coats, carpets, etc.) sprayed
into their shops and locks glued.
- So far, the animal tortures say DFF has damaged more
than one million NOK.
- 24th August - the DFF did their first direct live liberation
of animals. One-hundred and ten black mink were released into nature from
five different fur farms in Rogaland (between 20 and 25 mink from each
farm). "DFF" and "SLAVERI" (SLAVERY) were panted at
the farms.
Mink did not originate in Norway but many black mink live
a good life here in the wild. Mink who have escaped death at Norwegian
fur farms have found their place in our ecosystem.
Many direct actions have been performed before these actions
occurred, but by anonymous person(s). Amongst the earlier actions we can
mention: the liberation of pigs from a farm that had a lot of illegal practices,
liberation of mink, lots of fur shops' locks destroyed, fur/butcher shops
having their windows broken and the list continues.
The animals need to fight on all fronts and the international
A.L.F. is an extremely important part of that fight.
Direct action for animal liberation continues!!!!
